Here it is! The long anticipated first image from our new 14-inch aperture PlaneWave CDK 350 telescope!
Using 9 hours of data captured by Cole Rees, Brian Puhl processed this magnificent image of Messier 101, the Pinwheel Galaxy (M101, also identified as NGC5457). It’s located 21.6 million light years away from Earth in Ursa Major. It’s a spiral galaxy three times larger than the Milky Way.
Thanks to all who supported this effort!
And stay tuned for more fantastic imagery! Better yet, come out and join us for one (or more) our upcoming events!
