Dark Sky Awareness Events

Thanks to all who participated in the International Dark Sky Week events that we co-sponsored with our friends from DarkSky Olympic Peninsula (DSOP)!

Above is an image from the Dark Sky movie event that was hosted at Lynwood Theater. We had over 50 people brave the terrible weather to watch the screening of three short films raising the awareness of the dark sky conservation.

Below is an image of Walter, Defender of Dark Skies! Walter made a special appearance at the April Bainbridge Island Farmer’s Market event alongside BPAA and DSOP.

And the City Council of the City of Bainbridge Island passed a proclamation designating April 13-19, 2026 as “Bainbridge Island Dark Sky Week”. The full text of the proclamation can be seen at this link.
