As 2026 draws to a close BPAA is looking ahead and planning programs for next year. In particular, our outreach and engagement with Kitsap Schools has been well-received and we very much would like to expand those opportunities for young students to experience the wonder of exploration beyond our planet. Your support will make these programs possible. Here are a few ways you can help; choose those that work best for you:

Sponsor the Spark Event, November 14

You’re invited to BPAA’s open house fall fundraising event on November 14. Come see for yourself what goes on inside the Observatory, meet our staff and volunteers, and learn about our programs for schools, including our new science internships for high school students. As a special bonus, there will be a silent auction for a telescope, complete with training on how to use it!

Make Space for Wonder Online Fundraiser

Another way to support our programs is through the Make Space for Wonder online portal. This fundraiser provides for the ongoing viability of our programs, including our staff who so capably create and deliver planetarium shows linked to common core academic standards. Other programs we offer are: Second Saturday Science Talks; telescope viewing nights (“star parties”); loaner telescopes (including how-to training); astronomy classes through BI Parks; and more.

One Call For All

Support Battle Point Observatory through the Red Envelope Campaign! If you live on Bainbridge Island you should have already received the Red Envelope in your mailbox. And no matter where you live, you can give online here. Be sure to include BPAA when choosing your favorite nonprofits to support. And remember: every donation of $20 or more qualifies for one share of the Community Fund, disbursed when the campaign ends in August. So if you set up a recurring monthly donation of $20 or more you can earn as many as 12 shares for the year-long campaign. In the 2025-26 campaign just ended, shares were worth $5.21 each! As an added bonus, OCFA covers all transaction fees so the full amount of your donation goes to your chosen organizations.
