Battle Point Observatory has a full & FUN schedule ahead, and we can’t do it without your help! We are looking for many roles, from one-time event greeters to ongoing assistance with projects inside the Observatory. See descriptions below.

One-time Event Help:
If you can sign up for a one-time event, we appreciate your help!
Events coming up:
June 21 – Volunteer greeters & guides at our Grand Reopening Event (3-hour shifts, or help during the whole event).
July/August – Sit at a greeter table outside the Observatory during the BI Parks Sounds of Summer concerts and Movies in the Park. Share about our awesome group!
Star Parties – Help setting up and guiding people to operate telescopes.
Second Saturday:
Do you have skill with audio and visual equipment and production? We’re looking for one or more volunteers to manage cameras, lighting, sound, and video recording of our monthly Second Saturday programs at the Observatory.
Video Specialist:
Looking for help to represent Battle Point Observatory on YouTube, creating short form videos for promotions, recording our events and lectures, and working with our Education and Programs team to support video outreach!
Social Media/Marketing:
Have a knack for social media or marketing? Know how to create cool graphics on Canva or Photoshop? We need you! You’re more than welcome to do one, two, or all three of these tasks, if you have the time you can contribute:
Social Media Specialist
Represent BPAA on social media (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
Create events on Facebook for planetarium shows, fundraisers, etc.
Graphics Specialist
Develop flyers and graphics using Canva or other services to promote Battle Point Observatory events
Marketing Specialist
Create text blurbs to announce events, introduce speakers, and spread the great work of Battle Point Observatory to local media
Create an advertising plan to advertise BPAA/Observatory events and fundraisers outside of social media
