A Window for the Library!
Thanks to a grant from the Rotary Club, we will be installing a new window in the library, in an existing opening that’s been hiding behind the bookshelves.

Liftoff! BARN-Built Cabinet Hoisted into Observatory
A specially-designed cabinet built by BARN volunteers was lifted into place this week at the Battle Point Astronomical Association observatory.
STEAM Initiative: Picking up Steam!
Since our STEAM initiative began this fall, we’ve had more than 300 students come through our doors to learn about astronomy for absolutely no cost. Many thanks to the teachers who brought their classes on field trips to the observatory, and to the donors whose contributions made this program possible.

April Saturday Planetarium Shows
Our weekly planetarium shows continue this month on April 4, 11, 18 & 25 at 12:30 and 2:30! Exact content is flexible based on audience interest, but common topics include constellations, planets, seasons, and astronomy history.
In observance of International Dark Sky Week, we will present a Special Movie at the Planetarium “Losing the Dark” with conversation to follow, during Planetarium shows on 4/18 12:30 pm & 2:30 pm.

Astrophotography Special Interest Group
The next meeting of the Battle Point Observatory’s Astrophotography Special Interest Group will be on Saturday, April 18, at 11 AM in the Gardiner Library inside of the Battle Point Observatory (Please note this is not on the usual second Saturday of the month).
