Did you know, if you are a member of Battle Point Astronomical Association, you also become a club member of the Astronomical League and receive the Reflector magazine? The League is composed of regional groups across the nation (and now an international region!) dedicated to encouraging interest in astronomy and collaboration. In the lead up to NASA’s “International Observe the Moon Night” in September, we encourage all our members to try out the Lunar Observing Program using their PDF Checklist! No special skills are needed. Come talk to our volunteer astronomers during a Friday night in August when we have telescopes set up alongside Movies in the Park. We’ll help you identify, learn more about the moon, and check items off your list! If you want to try it out at home, you can also take a look at the moon’s features with your eyes or with binoculars.
