Speaker: Joe Mulligan, BPAA Secretary and Newsletter editor
NOAA stands for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (not the guy with the big boat). A diverse organization, one of its components is the National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service. As you can tell from its title, here’s where NOAA gets into space. We take a brief look at the history of this organization, and how it’s products and services have become essential for a wide range of users, including astronomers!
After the talk, stick around for a planetarium show and, if the weather holds, a Star Party.
(PSST…we are still looking for members to join our Speakers Bureau! Whether you want to give a scheduled talk, or offer to be a stand-in when our scheduled speaker needs to cancel, we need you!)
