The Battle Point Astronomical Association (BPAA) is a non-profit amateur astronomy organization. BPAA operates the Edwin E. Ritchie Observatory and John H. Rudolph Planetarium in the Helix House located at Battle Point Drive and Skinner Road.
BPAA is a 501(c)(3) organization and donations are tax-deductible.
Donations help BPAA offer to the community:
- Educational classes and lectures
- Star Parties
- “Hands on” with telescopes
- Astronomy programs in the John H. Rudolph Planetarium
- Access to the Edwin E. Ritchie Telescope
- Free public events

BPAA Mission: To provide opportunities for the curious to observe, discover, and share the wonders of the universe through hands-on activities. Supported by shared expertise and the largest publicly accessible telescope in the Pacific Northwest, our members and the wider community are encouraged to experience astronomy, space exploration, and the enabling technologies.
