The Dumbbell Nebula, as seen by the Ritchie Telescope
Over the past few years the Edwin E. Ritchie Telescope has undergone repairs and fine-tuning to improve its pointing and tracking ability. With the addition of a Mallincam astronomical camera we can take images such as this one of M27, the Dumbbell Nebula, a planetary nebula in the constellation Vulpecula, some 1,360 light-years distant.
We can project these images on a computer screen in real time, and even live-stream them to viewers watching from home. This capability allows us to host virtual star parties. We invite you to join us as we explore the universe!
